Did you know Bryan McGeary has guided six cohorts as a facilitator of Rebus’ Open Publishing Projects Certificate, resulting in 36 OER projects and over 150 educators taking up the mantle of championing open education? For emerging OpenEd leaders, having access to an expert like Bryan – Open Education Engagement Librarian at Penn State University and OEGlobal award nominee for his work on the Open Pedagogy Project Roadmap – offers invaluable support at the critical, early stages of their journeys when they are just beginning to find their footing. We’d like to celebrate Bryan’s generosity of spirit and salute his dedication!
This June, Bryan also joined Rebus as a guest speaker in our Free Summer Webinar Series. Bryan’s participation in the “Making the Case for OER: Affordability, Access, and Impact” webinar offered attendees invaluable insights about measuring the impact of open education beyond lowering textbook costs, while still acknowledging affordability as a core value of open education. Bryan contributed noteworthy examples of educators tailoring OER for their instruction as well as initiatives that sustain OER, offering webinar participants ideas they can adapt and implement at their own institutions. Thank you, Bryan, for modelling the principles of open in every challenge you take on!
