Liza Long

This month, we’re celebrating our wonderful facilitator, Liza Long! Liza has facilitated four cohorts of the Open Publishing Projects Certificate (OPC) and brings an innovative, creative approach to leadership. She is always eager to learn from each cohort she facilitates. Participants describe her as supportive and positive, with one noting that Liza is “fantastic at sharing resources and answering questions. I deeply value and admire [her].”

A huge congratulations to Liza on her new role as an Academic Technology Program Manager with the Idaho State Board of Education! This new position is a perfect fit for her expertise and passion.

With her colleagues Joel Gladd and Amy Minervini, Liza co-edited Write What Matters, an open education resource first-year composition modular textbook designed for the Idaho State Board of Education outcomes. She earned her Ed.D. in organizational leadership and holds both a B.A. and M.A. in Classics (Latin and Greek). Liza has taught English, humanities, and student success courses at the college level for several years and is passionate about the power of open education to change lives. She blogs about teaching and writing with generative AI at Artisanal Intelligence.
